Calling All Direct Descendents of Durham Revolutionary War Veterans

George Washington may have walked through Durham, but many patriots lived here. If you are a direct descendent of a Durham Revolutionary War Veteran, please call the Durham Fair office at (860) 349-9495 and leave a message with your name and phone number for Sue Cipriani. Join us on Sunday, Sept.28 morning and stand in your ancestor’s place as we call off the honor roll. Click here for a listing of veterans' names


Discovery Center  Welcomes
the "Connecticut Line"

Join The Durham Fair and the Discovery Center in welcoming the "Connecticut Line", the Living History/Color Guard Unit of the Connecticut Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).

Visit their authentic encampment, watch them muster and parade each day at noon and on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 9:00 am, join us on the town green to celebrate Durham's Revolutionary War Veterans.

 Mark Twain?  At the Durham Fair...

The Discovery Center extends an invitation to all fairgoers to meet Mark Twain* at the Main Gate to the fair at 11:30 am, Saturday, Sept. 27 and stroll with him down to our new Potbelly Place in the Farm Museum.

At 1:30 pm, gather ‘round the potbelly stove and listen to Mark as he talks with you about his life in Connecticut and on the Mississippi River.

Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2:00 pm

 
You have to see it to believe it!

Rosette ribbons will be awarded for the categories of funniest, prettiest, and most original. Dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, swine, goats, poultry, and rabbits may participate.

Join us for a unique display of animals and their owners  in the Cow Palace Show Ring at the front of the Dairy Barn.

Find out what products the animals produce, how they are raised, what they eat and why the owners raise them. Have questions? The owners and animals have the answers!


The Mummy Professors Are Back

Quinnipiac professors Ron Beckett and Jerry Conlogue are back with more stories of their world-wide adventures with mummies.

Visit them at their Discovery Center booth on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 & 27.

Don't miss their fun and interactive presentation on Friday, Sept. 26 at 10:00 am and Saturday, Sept. 27, at 4:00 pm in the Discovery Center.
